Sac State Morning Wake-Up Call: Post-NAU Loss Edition

If you’re feeling like you’ve had a bad morning, remember it could be worse. Just ask the 3-5 Hornets who had two red-zone turnovers, personal foul penalties and missed kicks. We’ll try not to fumble the links:

The weather is still in the mid-80′s in Sacramento, but it feels like fall around Sac State.That’s because the men’s basketball team holds its first official NCAA-sanctioned practice today.

Sac State Morning Wake-Up Call: GameDay Edition

It’s been a week since the Hornets upset Montana at home. Let’s see if they can beat Montana State on the road and sweep the state.

It’s Tuesday, which means it takes a few more shots of espresso to charged up for the day because, well, there’s five days until the next football game. Yet we’ve cooked a few links to get you through the morning.

Sac State Morning Wake-Up Call: Monday Edition

Sorry this is late. We slept in. Went out for a ham steak for breakfast. But now it’s time to eat up the links:

Today’s video is from Montana State, which is the Hornets’ next opponent. It promotes the Bobcats’ motto: “Leave no question.”

First the football stories:

* My good friend Victor Contreras wrote today’s Leading Off column in the Sacramento Bee with a few bullet points on the Hornets.

* In case you missed it, Bill Bradley of SacStateSports wrote about how this season’s football schedule makes it tough for the Hornets to sell tickets, win or lose.

* The Missoulian’s analysis of Montana’s loss found that Sac State made all of the big plays.

* The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported that Montana State coach was pleased with what he saw in the Bobcats’ victory over Eastern Washington. He may be the first coach to be that happy with a win.

* The Bozeman paper also reported that the Bobcats-Hornets game is nearly sold out. (The link has worked off and on today.)

* Remember the first team to beat Sac State, Southern Utah? The Utah Sports Examiner reported the Thunderbirds have arrived after beating FBS school UNLV.

* In our daily Oregon State link, The Bleacher Report dissected its schedule and noted the Hornets’ first victim could go winless this season.

* And the Natomas Buzz wrote a feature on the Inderkum High marching band playing at halftime of the Hornets’ victory over Montana on Saturday (lots of photos).
